Leadership Coaching, Trust Leadership, Business Leadership Coaching
As a Transformational Coach (specialized in leadership and trust) I work with you to become your greatest self. I am a Certified Executive Coach (CEC) trained at Royal Roads University. I am passionate about leadership and building trust. I have my Masters in Leadership (MAL) specializing in healthcare, and I am a Certified Health Executive (CHE). We will work together, one topic at a time, on a guided journey of your strengths, values, beliefs, and limiting saboteurs that hold you back. I have built my practice on my four cornerstones of trust, authenticity, love and fun. I live in the centre of these four cornerstones of being mindful of leading self.
Research (Chernis, 2003; Clarke, 2010; Godse & Thingujam, 2010; Ozcelik, H., Langton & Aldrich, 2008) has shown that having a positive workplace culture creates more productivity in employees and less neglect of job duties. Using emotional intelligence creates positive cultures. Studies show an increase in revenue and growth. Innovation and creation are key in the changing healthcare environment and a manager who shows worry, frustration and a lack of awareness can undermine employee motivation (Brundin, Patzelt & Shepherd, 2008)
Through this journey of discovery, you the client – will start to make empowering choices about how to live your life in an
authentic, naturally powerful way. Leading and creating trust requires self-awareness, Conversational Intelligence® and positive energy. Working with me you develop insights and start putting the puzzle pieces together one piece at a time to create the solutions that work for you.
A leader is a person who instils trust.
Great leadership starts within.
What I have discovered is that people do not work for a job but for a purpose.
We bring energy to everything we interact with.
I have found that people do not work for a job but for a purpose - the patient. The foundation of leadership is self-awareness. This is essential to learn and practice in order to build trust and create an environment of dignity and respect for the patient, their family and the healthcare professionals serving them. Awareness also encompasses others and the system. When there is a breakdown in the system the patient is not being cared for effectively and a breakdown in trust occurs. Building trust, being aware of how you manage yourself and others, the energy you bring to work and how you communicate will create a more caring and effective healthcare system which benefits the patient and their families. Trust is key in developing and fostering relationships with others. As a coach, I co-create with the client the transformation to lead with their head and heart.
I am certified in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) Level I and II, SDI® Level I, EQi 2.0 and EQi 360, a LEADS Coach with the LEADS Collaborative through the CCHL, and an Enhanced Skills Coach with Conversational Intelligence (C-IQ). I am also trained in the Leadership Models Essential for Organizational Coaches and Coach Master Toolkit from the World Business Executive Coaches (WBEC).
I am active in my community on a number of not-for-profit boards and presently holds the position of Executive Member of the NEON Lights CCHL Chapter, President of Searchmont Ski Association (SSAI), Chair of the Governance and Development Committee of SSAI, is a member of the Algoma Music Conservatory Capital Campaign, and has served in the past as Chair of the Sault Ste. Marie Physician Retention Committee.
I live in the Northern Ontario community of Sault Ste. Marie and I have an active lifestyle with her husband, Dr. Graham Elder, and two teenage children. I love being in nature either downhill skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, or hiking. I practice yoga, pilates, and Reiki. Balancing work, family, and myself is part of being a happy and resilient coach and allows her to help others reach their potential and possibilities.
